A medical laboratory scientist (MLS), also known as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist, works to analyze a variety of biological specimens. Is CLS worth it? ›
Definitely worth it, in case I was having a bad day when taking one of the tests. The tests are not offered every week! Doing any kind of lab work pretty much requires that much time investment, and CLS certification will help you get a job in many kinds of lab, or even a job selling lab equipment. What are the benefits of medical laboratory science? ›
They analyze biological specimens — from cells to blood and other bodily fluids — and their analysis can help guide doctors' decisions. Experts estimate that medical lab science professionals provide up to 70% of patients' laboratory testing to physicians to make accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. What to do after working in a laboratory? ›
